With Spring in full bloom, the Socialcast team is also busy making things happen. This month, we have a Solution Spotlight on our Deep-Linking feature for mobile users and a couple product enhancements. Check them out below!
Deep-Linking into Socialcast Mobile Apps
Have you had a chance to try out our deep-linking enhancements for our iOS and Android mobile apps? While viewing Socialcast email notifications on your mobile device, clicking on the action button in the email (e.g. “Reply” or “Respond to [User’s] Message”) or any active community link, will now take you directly to the message in the Socialcast app!
Check out this quick 30-sec video on how deep-linking works.
To take advantage of this simple yet powerful feature, you will need to have the Socialcast app installed, and be authenticated for the mobile app (Android and iOS) and the mobile browser (iOS only). If you haven’t already, download our app in the iTunes Apps Store and Google Play Store today!
As more workers turn to their mobile devices to triage their daily tasks, collaborate with teammates, and stay on top of company news, we’ve made mobility one of our primary focuses here at Socialcast. Deep-Linking is only of the many enhancements we’re making to our mobile apps, with many more to come!
Feature Updates
1. Subscribe to a Topic
We now allow users to follow topics/hashtags so that posts that are tagged with that topic will show up in your Home Stream. To follow a topic, simply navigate to the Topics page of interest and click on the ‘Subscribe’ button. Note, subscribing to topics will not trigger in-app or email notifications. You can still receive email notifications for Topics if they are added to Custom Streams.
2. Set Topic Profile Picture via API
We have added a new API to update the avatar for Topics. Many of our customers have been asking for enhancements to our Topics functionality and this new programmatic approach is just the first step. More documentation can be found on our Developers API page here: https://socialcast.github.io/socialcast/apidoc/topics/update.html
